Podcast #3 Part II Recovery Exercise #2- 5-Pillars to Successful Christian Recovery Checklist
In Podcast Episode #3 I discussed the 5 Pillars to Successful Christian Recovery and Addiction; it was S.P.A.C.E. which stands for Stabilization, Professional Help, Accountability and Support, Courage and Endurance. In this exercise you are required to write down through in your faith in God as well as sources in your life (i.e. family, friends, co-workers and etc) a checklist or inventory of where you are at in the 5 Pillars of Christian Recovery.
If you were to rate the stability of your addiction on a scale from 1 to 10 (1 being the worst and 10 being the most stable) what would that be?
List 3 things that you can do today in order to become more stable in your addiction?
Professional Help (P)
Self Reflect; seek God’s counsel through prayer after you have determined your stability with you addiction, ask yourself am I ready for professional help?
Accountability and Support (A)
Write Down 3 faith based “Life Lines” for accountability and support (i.e. Church, Christian Family and/or Friends, as well as Meetings and Sponsors
By reading scripture and bible verses about courage (use the concordance found in the back of all bibles) will help lift you up with courage. Write down 3 bible verses about courage and meditate and pray on them.
Like courage, find 3 bible verses (use the concordance found in the back of the bible) on Endurance and write them down meditate and pray on them.
